VOLUNTEER WITH US!

The annual Vancouver Chinatown Festival would not be possible without the support of volunteers. We need approximately 300 volunteers over the 2-day event!

If you wish to know more about Vancouver's historic Chinatown, or want to re-establish your ties with the renewed Chinatown, or would like to make new friends, or simply want to enjoy a fun event, come volunteer with us!

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

Information Booth / Greeters
- Answer public inquiries, give directions
- floating: assist where needed

Stage
- sound: working with sound technician
- backstage: assist in performance lineups
- front: crowd control

Kids Corner
- managing collection of tickets and money
- crowd control

Sponsor Booths
- crowd control

Day Market
- Water: Make sure all portables are open
- Electricity: assit booth administratives

Culture Area
- fish tank: crowd control
- photographers: stage, streets, people
- random: crowd control, hand out flyers, etc

Volunteer Tent
- Admin: assist with sign in/sign out, etc
- Supply: making sure supples are always stocked
- floaters: setup, takedown, replacements, etc

Environmentalists
- Regulators + Informatives: informing audience of green choices

VIP Reception
- Take care of VIP Sponsors, Media, etc

Carrall Street
- BMX Stunt Show: Regulate Crowd
- Green Theme Exhibition: Ensuring no damage
- Bicycle Valet: Communicator between streets

Floaters
- Fill in where needed

Administration
- Assist with various office tasks before and after the Festival

Benefits to Volunteers:

• Volunteers will enhance their communication skills and/or learn new skills, meet and interact with a diverse community of people, and gain experience in special events.
• Volunteers will receive a Certificate (or letter) of Appreciation for their efforts.
• Complimentary food and refreshments will be available during the Festival.
• Volunteers will have the perfect chance to discover the secrets of Vancouver's historic Chinatown!
